The long-awaited return of passenger trains between Portishead and Bristol is finally becoming a reality! 🚆 In today's adventure I head out on the bike to explore the route, check out the latest construction progress, and see just how much work has been completed on one of the South West's biggest transport projects.

But it wasn't all smooth riding...😱 I also had a VERY close near head-on crash with another cyclist that could have ended very differently!

🚆 Did you know?
Passenger trains last ran between Portishead and Bristol in 1964, when the line fell victim to the Beeching cuts.
The reopening will reconnect over 50,000 people to the national rail network for the first time in decades.
Two new stations are being built at Portishead and Pill.
Around 3 miles (5 km) of new railway is being laid between Portishead and Pill, where it will join the existing freight line serving Royal Portbury Dock.
The journey from Portishead to Bristol Temple Meads is expected to take around 25 minutes, roughly half the journey time by road during busy periods.
Construction is now underway, with passenger services currently expected to begin in winter 2028/29 after testing and commissioning.
