The Galo Welfare Society (GWS), during a press briefing highlighted the plight of villages in the Upper Ramle Bango region that remain cut off following the June 28 cloudburst and flash floods.

According to the society, damaged roads, bridges and communication networks have left residents struggling with shortages of food, drinking water, electricity and healthcare. The floods also caused significant damage to agricultural land, livestock and public infrastructure.

GWS president Toli Basar appealed to the state government to air-drop essential supplies to the affected villages and said Chief Minister Pema Khandu has assured that the situation will be reviewed and necessary assistance provided.
