About this video:
In this episode, we take on one of the most extreme hikes in Southeast Asia: the night trek to Mount Ijen’s crater to witness its blue fire, caused by ignited sulfuric gases.

Along the way, we cross paths with sulfur miners carrying 70–80 kg loads with no protection, descend into toxic clouds with barely any visibility, and fight the stench of sulfur that burns your lungs, even with a mask.

After witnessing the flames, we continue climbing to the edge of the crater for one of the most surreal sunrises we’ve ever seen. Most people leave right after sunrise with their guided tours — we stayed an extra hour and had the whole volcano to ourselves.

This isn’t a touristic highlight. It’s a test of endurance. And totally worth it.
