An accurate prediction of soil-structure-interaction is fundamental for the determination of overall stiffness and the natural frequencies of integral tower & foundation structures. Based on this, engineer can avoid the risk of resonance phenomena with the turbine, and also prevent early fatigue damage in the structure.
In this webinar, we present the influence of geotechnical material models in determining the stiffness of wind turbine foundations under cyclic loading. The nonlinear behavior of concrete is included in this study, such as the influence of cracking in stiffness reduction of the foundation.
As a result, analytical, simple and complex nonlinear 3D Finite Element models are compared and evaluated for the determination of soil stiffness parameters.
