160 Hz is a low-mid frequency here as a pure sine wave. This low-mid frequency tone is used by some for deep concentration, relaxation, ambient listening, and stress relief.

Audio engineers find this frequency familiar and a point of adjustment found on most equalizers. This is due to the strong microphone recording proximity effect (sound sources are bassier recorded close up) and playback performance of speakers (woofers easily playback this frequency while requiring more power to playback lower frequencies beyond this point) that both boost this frequency. Audio engineers often have to balance this frequency by turning it down.
