March 8th 2019, Milano, Fabrique. Another sold out gig in this successful “Living The Dream European Tour” awaits Slash & his solo band, featuring Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) on vocals. Yours truly BARBARA CASERTA is among the few guests kindly invited backstage for an interview, with bassist TODD KERNS and drummer BRENT FITZ of SLASH & THE CONSPIRATORS. Todd & Fitzy are two giant canadian multi-instrumentalists (…by vocation or necessity?) with a long long story in music and a big versatile talent which in the last 25 years they devoted to the greatest in the hard rock camp, including Bruce Kulick & Gene Simmons of Kiss, Alice Cooper, Vince Neil and now Slash! Brent was also the official drummer in Union (1997-2000) again with Kulick & also John Corabi… They both are in The Conspirators since day one, is it hard to collaborate with such huge artists instead of climbing their own career? What do they remember of their first meeting with Slash? Are they still “living the dream”? Which of the 3 Conspirators’ albums released represents this band at its best? Can we define The Conspirators sound the result of a real band work? Did Slash approach to all this changed someway after Guns N’Roses reunion? And the fact that GNR covers disappeared from the setlist (except "Nightrain"!) is really just a matter of having more originals? Favourite moment in this show? And why Todd actually chose to pick the songs that Lemmy and Iggy Pop sang on Slash’s first solo album for his lead vocals-moment? And how do they deal with schedule conflicts since they all have multiple commitments? Todd played guitar and was the frontman with Kulick’s band on KISS KRUISE 8… how do their gear and set up change upon different gigs? Can endorsements be tricky at their level or they are really able to pick exactly what they really like/want to use? As hard working musicians, to fit the best is it more a matter of adapting to any situation or to put firmly your foot and signature is, no matter what, is always a winner? Main influence as a bass player and drummer: one name! And what happens on those infamous nighliners during a tour like this one: is it the best and worst part of it?
