It was supposed to be a quick trip — six passengers on the 11:40 bus down Route 41.
Halfway through the hills, the storm hit. Radio went dead.
The driver said we’d pull over when he saw the next sign.
But we never passed another one. Just road — black, endless, wrong.
Then a woman in the back said, “That sign was upside down.”
We all looked — but there was no sign at all.
A few minutes later, my phone buzzed — voicemail from myself.
It said, “Don’t get off.”
When I looked up, we weren’t moving anymore.
No rain. No driver.
Just the headlights reflecting on an empty road.
Next morning, police found the bus engine running —
doors open, no passengers.
The voicemail timestamp?
Ten minutes after the bus disappeared.
