Dr. Jarman is a pediatric podiatrist who treats toe walking every week and has 10+ years of surgical experience. Toe walking is 100% treatable. Surgery is considered when conservative care hasn’t worked or age makes correction necessary.

What to expect (from virtual consult to recovery)
• Step 1: Telehealth consult to review history and confirm candidacy
• Step 2: Pre-op visit the day before surgery for exam and planning
• Surgery day: arrive 1 hour before; most go home ~1 hour after; protective cast applied
• 2-week follow-up: cast change, site check, new cast with easy at-home removal
• Week 4–6: transition into a walking boot for ~2 weeks
• Week ~7: team call to set expectations for moving back into regular shoes
• Second leg (if needed): typically ~10–11 weeks after the first leg
• Physical therapy: usually starts ~6 weeks post-op
• 6-month telehealth: final follow-up to confirm progress
