We decided to inspect 2 of our hives after a really long time to see what was going on inside and may be split the hives if we found queen cells .
We could not split the hives as we didn't find a queen cell in the green wooden hive , however we shifted the colony to a new box as we had found fungus in the honey chamber during the monsoons .
The queen looked young too , like she had recently emerged from a queen cell. It was a delight to see ample pollen collection in the hive .
The 2nd hive was beautiful too , with honey being stored in the honey super , however the bees had shut the brood chamber so tightly , I was worried the glass partition would break into piecs inside the brood chamber , hence shut the hive back , will revisit this hive in consultation with Binu Pt from Madhusree Honey.
