The first-ever performance of "Sincere" — a barbershop quartet gem from The Music Man — capping off an unforgettable New Year's Eve at MSG.
Following one of the most elaborate NYE stunts in Phish history (milk sheet, milk dancers, Harry Hood ushering everyone into a freezer, and callbacks to gags stretching all the way back to 12/31/92), all four band members emerged dressed as Harry Hood to deliver this a cappella treat.
Starting with the word "ice cream" — just like in the original musical when Harold Hill unites four feuding men through harmony — Trey, Page, Mike, and Fish reminded us that after 40+ years, you'll never see one of these guys without the other three.
The song was originally performed by The Buffalo Bills (the 1950 SPEBSQSA champions, not the football team) in the 1962 film adaptation of The Music Man.
