NSW played Victoria in the final of the Mercantile Mutual Cup for 1992/93, held at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 20 Feb 1993.
A solid crowd of 11,070 people attended to see two star-studded lineups compete for the trophy. I was one of them.
NSW boasted Michael Slater, Michael "the finisher" Bevan, Greg Matthews, Adam Gilchrist (before he played for WA, and he's not the keeper!) and Glenn McGrath - all very early in their careers
VIC boasted Matthew Elliott, Dean Jones, Darren Lehmann, Simon O'Donnell, James Sutherland (who later became CEO of Cricket Australia) and Damien Fleming.
