hi everyone!
i went to hongkong for a weekend (1 night)🎀
some tips for hongkong if it's your first time going:
1. octopus card! you can get one at any metro station or directly at hongkong west kowloon station if you arrive by train. the octopus card is key to take public transport in HK! you can top it up with money at any convenience store in HK.🦑
2. you don't need wechat/alipay! while it often works, i found it easier to pay by card or with cash (HK $)☀️
3. i stayed on the kowloon side of hongkong this time, but actually either is fine i think because you can easily transfer between kowloon and HK island.🏝️
4. it can get quite crowded on weekends, especially at the typical spots. especially on sundays there are a lot of people, as this is the off-day for live in maids/nannys.🫧
5. enjoy! honestly there are so many great things to do in HK and you probably won't be able to fit them all in one visit. There's definitely something interesting for everyone!🩷
