Oscar Peterson was a Canadian jazz pianist, considered one of the greats (Duke Ellington called him the 'Maharaja of the keyboard'). His 1962 'Hymn to Freedom' was one of his first major works and was quickly embraced as an anthem of the Civil Rights Movement by groups all over the world.
Fifty-five years later, here are the massed Cantamus Girls Choir, Cantamus Training Choir and Cantus Amici (alumna of Cantamus) performing the piece at a concert in memory of their founder Pamela Cook, on what would have been her 80th birthday.
