Our first ever visit to Universal Hollywood California and as Disney fans, we had one big question – could Universal live up to our expectations? Plus, did we make a rookie mistake by getting standard park tickets instead of the Express Pass?

We kick off the day with early access to Super Nintendo World and dive straight into Mario Kart Bowser Challenge – an absolute blast! After the ride, we grab lunch at Toadstool Cafe, trying both the burger and pasta meals, and even meet Princess Peach herself.

From there we leave the Mushroom Kingdom and enter the world of Transformers, meeting Bumblebee in all his robotic glory. Then it’s off to Jurassic Park where we ride the water attraction and honestly – we have never been so soaked on a ride! On our way out, we spot Megatron meeting guests, and he absolutely does not disappoint.

Even at Universal, the character fun doesn’t stop. We meet Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse, Hello Kitty, King Julien (who shows off his dance moves), Frankenstein and his bride, Queen Poppy from Trolls, Donkey from Shrek, Dr Emmett Brown from Back to the Future, Homer Simpson, Dracula and more. It’s a whirlwind of fan favourites and nostalgia!

We also tackle more rides than ever including Jurassic Park, Mario Kart, the Studio Tour, and The Mummy. Along the way, we explore the shops and lands across the park, from Springfield to Hogsmeade in the Wizarding World, before catching the epic Waterworld show.

As Universal closes at 6pm, we hop back to Disneyland for the evening. In just minutes we meet Mickey, Minnie, and Donald, then spend some time in Avengers Campus meeting the superheroes. We even learn a few new handshakes and wrap up the night with another magical parade.

From Super Nintendo World to Jurassic Park, epic character encounters, and a Disneyland nightcap – this day is packed with action, laughs, and unforgettable memories.
