New Haircut and trying to get William to speak to me. (Nonverbal Autism, 12 year old)

March 15, 2024 - Just wanted to show off Williams new haircut. It had become tough to manage his hair, it was always tangled and he was still often wiping food into it. So I asked him if he wanted a haircut, but he didn't answer me. So, I asked him if he wanted it short or if he liked it long. He typed Short, so we got him a haircut. It makes me sad though, I really loved his long hair, I thought he looked so handsome.
You might notice that nowadays on his talker he will press the speak button between each letter. I don't know if he just likes to hear the sounds as he types, or if it is just an impulse. But he is communicating, so we aren't gonna fuss.

William is my youngest. He was diagnosed with severe autism when he was 2.5 years old. He regressed around 1.5 years old and lost all of his words and many of his developmental skills. He is completely non verbal. Currently, he is working hard to learn to communicate with an electronic speech device.
