অ/আ + ও/ঔ= ৌ কার হয়। এই সম্পর্কে সব স্বরসন্ধির সহজ নিয়ম-
১. অ + ও= ৌ কার হয়। বন্ + ওষধি = বনৌষধি।
২. অ + ঔ= ৌ কার হয়। পরম + ঔষধ = পরমৌষধ।
৩. আ + ও = ৌ কার হয়। মহা + ওষধি = মহৌষধি।
৪. আ + ঔ= ৌ কার হয়। মহা + ঔষধ = মহৌষধ
উপরের চারটি সূত্রের সংক্ষিপ্ত সংজ্ঞা- অ-কার কিংবা আ-কারের পর ও-কার কিংবা ঔ-কার থাকলে উভয় মিলে ঔ কার হয়।
