Описание: The Karma Effect’s album ‘Promised Land’ contains 10 tracks of raw, hip-shaking rock’n’roll positively gleaming with 80s keyboard shimmer throughout. Recorded at MRC Studios and The Hive Studios, both just outside London, with producer Michael Charman, the album is built on escapism from start to finish. From the isolated 48-hour pre-production bootcamp that the band put themselves through to the album’s key ambition: “When we were creating the album, it felt like we had found our own bubble of utopia – nothing in the outside world mattered in those moments. That’s exactly what we want to offer anyone who takes the time to listen to the album,” say the band.

Emerging from this generation’s new-found interest in all things rock’n’roll, London’s The Karma Effect are an instantly head-turning proposition due to the timeless quality of their songs. Aside from the vocal pipes of Gottelier – which are surely the result of a hybrid experiment gone very right between Free’s Paul Rodgers and Foreigner’s Lou Gramm – The Karma Effect bring the glimmer of Seb Emmins’ keyboard command, the insatiable rhythmic partnership between drummer Ash Powell and bassist Liam Quinn, plus the blues braiding of dual guitar work by lead guitarist Robbie Blake and Gottelier that holds a tone to make the Robinson brothers and their fellow Crowes weak at the knees.

“Take my hand and we’ll make it to the promised land!” declares the choral refrain of The Karma Effect’s title track, sung with the earth-stopping conviction that frontman Henry Gottelier’s lungs are well accustomed to by now. And indeed, the band hope that the earth stops for each listener the moment that they press play on ‘Promised Land’.

Following a nationwide tour with Bad Touch in Spring 2024, the boys played sold out shows on their own headline tour in Sept 2024 and then extended their live domain further to new cities and venues during April 2025.

The April tour coincided with the release of a re-mastered and self-titled debut album, after their label, Earache Records, took up an additional option following the chart success of Promised Land.
The re-master allowed fans to experience the breath-taking debut album afresh, with it being available on coloured vinyl for the very first time. The original 8 scintillating songs were supplemented with an additional bonus track in Shine On that was recorded during the original studio sessions but due to budget limitations had to be cut from the pack. It now takes its rightful place alongside its siblings in the running order.

The Karma Effect begin recording a new album in August 2025 with a revamped and re-energised line-up.

“We’re beyond excited to finally share some news we’ve been quietly buzzing about for a while… Please give a massive welcome to Alan Taylor (Drums. Most recently seen with Laurence Jones), Tom Pitt (Keys. A highly qualified multi-instrumentalist), and Nate Keevil (Bass. Another talented multi-instrumentalist and familiar face to TKE-insiders) – the newest members of The Karma Effect family.

We’ve been working closely with these incredible musicians for the past few months, and the chemistry has been nothing short of electric. There’s a renewed fire in the room, and we genuinely can’t wait for you all to feel it. What’s coming is something truly special.

We’re heading into the studio at the end of the month to start tracking Album Three – and let us tell you, it feels like we’re about to make the record; the one we’ve always dreamed of. It’s bigger. It’s bolder. It’s louder, sleazier, funkier, and more soulful than anything we’ve done before. Classic rock bones, but with a 2025 heartbeat.

With the insanely talented Michael Charman and Romesh Dodangoda on board, this record is set to be something truly timeless. The kind of album you didn’t know you were missing from your collection – until now.

Following the studio work, they head over to Europe for their first festival appearances in Germany & France before returning to the UK to play further shows.
