Today we were in Vergennes, which is a city in Vermont's Addison County's northwest quadrant. The towns of Ferrisburgh, Panton, and Waltham surround the municipality. The population was 2,553 as of the 2020 census. In terms of population, it is the smallest of Vermont's nine cities, though the city of Winooski covers a smaller area. It was the state of Vermont's first incorporated city.
