FAQ:
Are they easy to walk in?
These shoes aren't necessarily the easiest to walk in. They do take some getting used to. Actually, the ones in my video were so hard to walk in that I ended up taking a layer off (so now I have 7 layers of flip flops instead of 8) and that made a huge difference! So I highly suggest that you do NOT use more than 7 layers of flip flops for your platform shoes. The shorter the platforms are, the easier they will be to walk in. I have another pair with 4 layers of flip flops which are very easy to walk in, I even wear them to amusement parks!
Are they comfortable?
Yes, they are comfortable! They feel a little weird when you first put them on but once you get used to them, it's fine. I love them because I like shoes that stand out so I usually wear high heels which are very uncomfortable. These platform shoes make a great replacement because they stand out, they are high, and they don't kill your feet!
What type of flip flops should I buy?
I don't suggest you buy any flip flops that are too squishy or soft. They will sink and make your shoes harder to walk in. Try to find flip flops that have a shape to them; not cheap unnatural looking ones. I used Old Navy brand flip flops which work great! They have a good shape (so it lines up with the shoes better) and they are very sturdy. If the shape doesn't match up with your shoe, take a large knife, saw, etc and cut them to the correct shape (do this after you have glued all of the flip flops together to create your platform. Don't glue the edges because this will make it harder for the knife to cut through)
How strong is Shoe Goo?
Shoe Goo is surprisingly strong (so is Gorilla Glue if you would rather use that). It is also water resistant. I have had the Shoe Goo come apart, so I decided to hammer nails through the bottom of the platform (don't use nails instead of glue, use BOTH! Use nails that are long enough to go through all of the flip flops without penetrating the shoe. This will ensure that the glue doesn't wear off and your shoes won't come apart! It's nearly impossible for the nails to come out, so the shoes shouldn't come apart.
