Welcome To The Year 2042! What's In My Vintage Jewelry Collection?
A fun, futuristic take on a "vintage" jewelry haul, set in the year 2042.
I take you on a journey through my personal jewelry collection from the "turn of the 21st century up until 2022," playfully referring to these pieces as "future vintage" from 20 years ago.
The video showcases several designer and unique pieces, with a focus on their quality, design, and collectibility over time: Come along for a charming blend of nostalgia and fashion analysis, emphasizing how well-made costume jewelry can become treasured and timeless pieces. I also include a fun, futuristic moment where I attempt to order a specialty coffee from a "Metatube" AI assistant.
Iris Apfel Collection: We start by featuring a collection of Iris Apfel jewelry, including a rare 3D French-made piece from around 2018. You also show chunky link chains that you still wear and combine in different ways today.
Chico's "Over-the-Top" Necklace: This piece, acquired in early 2022, is highlighted as a favorite from the brand. An incredible necklace made of high-quality, different-sized crystals on a gunmetal base, with pave crystal-encrusted links. Dawn also jokingly offers a "time portal" link to the sale price.
Kate Spade Pieces: A couple of necklaces from her Kate Spade collection, including a summery striped piece that came with its original grosgrain ribbon pouch, and a yellow, modernist geometric piece you feel was ahead of its time.
H&M Limited Edition: a geometric, modernist lucite piece from an H&M limited edition around 2012, noting it's still extremely wearable and can be mistaken for high-end.
Collectible Earrings and Cuffs:
Joan Rivers Earrings: A beautiful, large-sized pair from just before the turn of the century.
Zara Earrings: Two pairs of large earrings that referenced 1980s vintage designs.
Yoko Ono Bangle: A collectible cuff bracelet from a collaboration with Maiden Nation that says "Imagine Peace," made to support women's causes.
Natasha Modernist Brooch: A high-end, enameled, mid-20th-century modernist-looking piece from the early 21st century, acquired from a secondary market auction.
All-time favorites, complete with their original packaging and cards:
Iris Apfel Necklace: A lucite, crystal, and gunmetal seed-bead necklace.
Heidi Daus Piece: A magnificent, high-quality "Indian mogul" style piece from a shopping channel collaboration.
Loft Collaboration Necklace: A stunning, signed statement necklace from a designer collaboration with Juliana Rancic and Susanna Dye.
