Описание: The very first song by Mike Oldfield that I listened to was Nuclear in trailer for Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. I liked it a lot since it fitted perfectly to the world of MGS. After some time I decided to listen to the whole discography of Mike. I was shocked that there are 26 studio albums and some tracks are long (20 minutes long or so), but after giving it a try I started to love this music, it made me feel calm, relaxed, excited, fascinated. There are many albums and most of them quite unique and different for Mike. I would divide them into decades: 1) 70-s (here my favorites are Tubular Bells, Omnadawn and Platinum) which were instrumental heaven for Oldfield and unique experience for listeners; 2) 80-s (my favorite is Crises) which marked the songs era for Mike, which started nicely in Five Miles Out, was better in Crises and Discovery, but then started to fade away since Oldfield was forced to make as many songs as possible for Virgin to make another Moonlight Shadow; 3) 90-s when good old instrumentalist Mike Oldfield came back to what he loves (my favorites are Amarok (except for last 15 minutes), Voyager and Guitars)); 4) 00-s when he started experimenting with chill and orchestra music (my favorite album is Tres Lunas); 5) 10-s where he relaxed with Man on the Rocks and gave fans what they wanted. A classical Mike Oldfield album Return to Omnadawn (one of my favorite albums). And if this is really his final album then it’s a great retirement point. To me Mike Oldfield is the second favorite music artist (after Depeche Mode), I’m happy and proud to have come across the art of this multitalented man and have the collection of his studio albums.
