Breaking News | Ahead of Karnataka Election 2023, former BJP leader and ex-Karnataka Deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi deserted the saffron party and joined Congress, state Congress president DK Shivakumar announced on Friday. Laxman Savadi on April 12 resigned as Legislative Council member and from the primary membership of the BJP after not getting the poll ticket to contest Karnataka Assembly Election 2023. Shivakumar made the announcement after Savadi met Congress Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Congress state president and the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru today.
