Set within the dense urban fabric of Kozhikode, Between Gardens unfolds as a residence shaped by landscape, movement, and moments of pause. Located on a narrow, organically linear site in the neighborhood of Nadakkavu, the house transforms its constraints into a sequence of garden courts that guide one gradually through the home. Arrival happens through layered thresholds of forecourts, verandahs, and koi ponds, where movement becomes a gentle promenade between pockets of greenery. Each turn reveals a new landscape, allowing gardens to mediate the relationship between built form and everyday life.

Courtyards structure the plan as climatic and social anchors, drawing light, air, and vegetation deep into the interiors while dissolving boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Double-height living spaces open toward a pool garden, while upper levels bridge across volumes to connect bedrooms with terraces and elevated views. Rooted in Kerala’s craft traditions, sloping tiled roofs, carved wooden elements, oxide floors, and handcrafted details bring warmth and tactility, shaping a home where architecture and landscape exist in quiet continuity.
