RE-ORG: reorganizing museum storage in Southeast Europe

Описание: According to an ICCROM-UNESCO survey carried out in 2010-2011, 60% of the museum collections of respondents worldwide are at threat because of poor inventories and storage conditions. RE-ORG is a methodology and tool for smaller museums whose collections in storage are at risk due to incomplete documentation, overcrowding and difficulties in access.

This video is the result of an intense and amazing 10-day workshop on the reorganization of the Railway Museum storage in Belgrade, Serbia using the RE-ORG methodology (http://www.re-org.info/) developed by ICCROM and UNESCO.

RE-ORG SEE is part of the RE-ORG International project jointly developed with the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) and the Central Institute for Conservation (CIK) in Serbia in order to ensure better conservation and access to collections for participating museums.

RE-ORG SEE is a regional initiative for Southeast Europe, organized by CIK and the Regional Alliance of ICOM for South East Europe – ICOM SEE, with the support of the Serbian Ministry of Culture, ICOM and the Annenberg Foundation. Fifteen museums from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia are participating.
