The U.S. Department of Education's funding for Television Access has been Dicapta's fuel to providing captioning and video description to educational media, allowing us to continue our commitment to serving the community of individuals who have visual and/or hearing disabilities. Through three consecutive grants awarded by the Department of Education, captioning and video description have been added to educational media allowing people with audio and visual limitations to benefit from this program.

Video Description is a verbal narration of key visual elements of a television program, movie, video or any other audiovisual production, thus allowing viewers with visual disabilities complete access to a program. This verbal narration allows access to the visual content that otherwise would not be available limiting the blind or visually impaired to only hearing the dialogue of the program.

Dicapta inserts caption and video description in educational programs in Spanish expanding its audience and making it available for Hispanic children and adults with hearing or visual disabilities who live in The United States and Puerto Rico.

Both captioning and video description can be easily activated by using the remote control of a television set, and both are available for a wide variety of television programs.
