Over 140 girls from 4 local schools (Assumption Grammar, High School Ballynahinch, St. Colmans & St. Colmcilles) attended a Rugby Fun Day at Assumption Grammar School on Wednesday 13th June.
Coaches from Ulster Rugby, Ballynahinch Rugby Club and Peace IV's Sport Uniting Communities project were in attendance to deliver skills drills in the morning before the girls were split into mixed-school teams for a Tag Rugby tournament in the afternoon.
Current Ulster and Irish womens rugby player Ashleigh Baxter and Nora Stapleton, the Women's and Girls Development Manager for the IRFU were also there to observe the next batch of potential female rugby stars.
