[Episode 1 - 1973-1987]
Hudson Soft was one of the biggest names in gaming at one point, before being taken oven by Konami in 2011. Responsible for being the first distributor of compiled software for micro computers in Japan, the first third party Nintendo allowed on the Famicom platform before going on to develop a slew of innovations with the PC Engine and beyond, many would agree that Hudson Soft is a name sorely missed in the gaming world.
And yet, not only did Hudson Soft give so much to the world of gaming, they have one of the most interesting histories of any gaming industry companies as I take a deep dive into the company's founding and its early history, how they broke into the software market and went on to sell millions on Nintendo's Famicom (NES/Nintendo Entertainment System) as the first third party allowed on the system.
In this episode the founding of Hudson is covered including where the name came from, how the Kudo brothers Yuji Kudo and Hiroshi Kudo founded the company, its early struggles and how Hudson Soft emerged as one of the most important names in gaming. I also look at many of Hudson's early Famicom/NES releases with original photography and game capture and finish with how important Hudson's Caravan events became around Japan as the Famicom Boom kicked into high gear and caused a phenomenon across Japan.

[Interpretation/Translation notes]
The Japanese interpretation was all done by myself, and I hope that I understood everything correctly. My approach to translation is not to change the original meaning, but to intuit a natural English translation rather than a more direct translation.
