OC Transpo Video Ride: Route S1 - Special Supplemental Bus Service to O-Train Line 1 (2020)

Описание: Between January 20, 2020 to March 17, 2020, as well as the morning of July 3, 2020 (AM Rush Hour), OC Transpo operated a special bus service called "Route S1". Route S1 is a Special Supplemental Bus Service to O-Train (LRT) Line 1 "Confederation Line" due to train shortage.

In order to meet weekday service requirements (between September 2019 until mid-March 2020), RTG/RTM (Rideau Transit Group/Rideau Transit Maintenance) was required to provide 13 double trains for AM rush hour. Due to a number of high profile maintenance issues, RTG/RTM were unable to meet service with the required amount of trains.

(Please note that as of August/September 2020, RTG/RTM is to provide 15 double trains during the AM Rush Hour to maintain a 3/4/4 minute frequency; 13 double trains to maintain a 4 minute frequency; and 11 double trains at other time periods to sustain a 5 minute frequency)

Therefore, OC Transpo created Route S1 to provide additional capacity. Route S1s were operated by using 20 dedicated Nova LFS buses (with special R1 decals applied to the buses), as well as pulling some high-capacity buses (articulated buses and double decker buses) pulled off its regular scheduled assignments in order to operate Route S1.
