Day 21! A valentine's day themed vessel, a yellow vase for the new R.O.Y.G.B.I.V vase display I'm working on for the kitchen shelves, and a pack of greeting cards that can be put to good use! Good day at the thrift! ♥️🍬🌈💌 #ThriftedFinds #ThriftStoreFinds #HomeOrganization #ValentinesDayDecor #Vessels
Day 21 of helping you spot useful items in a thrift store! Whenever I feel like decorating for a holiday,
Valentines Day in this case, it is almost always in vessel form. I don’t enjoy a lot of decorations items
sitting on surfaces in my home unless it’s something I love like this handmade in Italy woven heart
basket. For $3.50 that was a yes. I’m not sure if this find falls under the “super useful” category but I
recently started collecting vases to make a little roygbiv display in my kitchen. I only have orange so far, so this was an exciting find for $2.50. I didn’t film it in the store, but I also picked up that pack of
Valentines Day greeting cards for 2 bucks. Besides vessels, greeting cards have always been one of my
favorite useful items to find. Back home the first step is always a bath. We have enough dust of our own
so I don’t like to set things out in our home with other peoples’ dust on them. Even though I love finding
pieces with the original tag & logo on them this ceramic heart basket will be holding food & washed often, so I am removing the tag this time. In this case there is a permanent mark indicating its origin in the
ceramic so I feel better about removing this tag. For the pack of greeting cards, I’ve been using this box for the last 10ish years to house all the greeting cards I use. This box we purchased says it has 10 cards, but it was retaped, so it’s usually a gamble. By the weight of the box I could tell there were enough cards in here to make it worth the $2. I really love the laser cut design & that these are blank inside. Here I am
sliding the cards in each envelope so I can face them up & grab them from the box easily. Sometimes I
add a little post it indicating who received one of these cards, so I don’t end up sending someone the
same card twice. Turns out there were 8 cards & 8 envelopes, so to me that was well worth it for $2. I am adding them towards the front here since I will be using some of them soon. As for the little box they
came in I popped the filler cardboard out & thought hmmm, let’s use this for something. I have quite a
few spots around my home where I use little boxes similar to this one to help keep like things together. In the silverware drawer I have this little spot where we keep clothes pins to help close bags of cereal or
crackers inside their box as well as bags of chips. I added the box here & now the clothes pins have an
official vessel. I recorded this footage for an upcoming video about swapping things out that need to be replaced. In this case the Christmas themed mat I had here is getting swapped for something that will go better with the heart shaped basket. I decided against the neutral tablecloth with tassels & went with the summer bbq vibe. It’s the only red one I have & I don’t have any pink ones, so until I find the perfect vintage tablecloth that fits this table, the red & white checkered will still look great. I do have this pretty
white floral one my grandma made from a bed sheet so I will probably use that one this winter as well. I
love when the tablecloth is swapped & it feels fresh. I was excited to transfer the soft peppermints we all
love from the winter tree vessel into the heart basket & they instantly become little Valentines Day treats
without having to buy anything. Here is the orange vase I was referring to earlier, so I will make a separate video about the roygbiv vase display on my kitchen shelves.
