On Saturday, June 15th (Day 6 of our sabbatical) we departed Gulf Shores, Alabama and made our way to Pensacola, Florida. We traveled along the coast through Orange Beach, Flora Bama, and Peridido Key. After a brief pilgrimage to Brownsville (Video coming soon), we crossed three mile bridge to Gulf Breeze and then on to Pensacola Beach. There we toured the boardwalk (where I once worked at Go Fish), Fort Pickens, and enjoyed the emerald green water and snow white sand on the beach. As twilight came, we traveled back to Alabama along old Highway 98 and ate dinner at Lambert's (famous for their "throwed rolls!"). We spent the night in Mobile so that the next day we could attend church services at the Church of His Presence in Daphne, Alabama... pastored by John Kilpatrick, formerly of Brownsville Assembly of God and the Brownsville Revival. Was a great way to cap off the first week of our sabbatical road trip!
