In addition to free work, Loek Bos produces a large number of commissioned sculptures for public space. Well-known, for example, are his life-size statue of Toon Hermans made for the city of Sittard and the Indonesian aunts, inspired and commissioned by writer Yvonne Keuls for the city of The Hague. In 1998 Loek Bos becomes a member of Pulchri Studio, of which he also becomes chairman in 2003. With his sculptures, Loek Bos stands in the characteristic 'New Hague School tradition of perfect figurative craftsmanship. In which each artwork seems to tell a story. Often peppered with humor, alienation, and sometimes a light form of surrealism. The starting point is an amazement for everyday life. What is special about Loek Bos's versatile oeuvre is that he rarely casts a series of his designs. Usually, he limits it to one copy.
