Description
In this video Spiro Poçi (Arom. Spiru Poci) tells a fairy tale of the Aromanian folklore in the Farsherot variety. This presents different topoi typical of the fairy tale tradition registered in the Aarne-Thompson-Index such as the ring structure, the boar (AT665, a very old motif in the Indo-European tradition which plays an important role for instance in the labours of Hercules and in the Nibelungenlied), the brothership (AT302), which is actually the main motif, and the important role of the helper (513A). Nevertheless we find motifs connected to supernatural phenomena here like the wizard and the gift of turning people into stone (AT516) as well as the process of anagnorisis. The recording was made in Gjirokastër, Albania.
