Canine mainstem bronchial and tracheal collapse (fluoroscopy)

Tracheal and bronchial fluoroscopy in an old Chihuahua presented for acute respiratory distress. The fluoroscopy was performed 48 hours after presentation. During hospitalization the dog was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension and coagulopathy. Dyspnea resolved in 48 hours after initiation of sildenafil and oxygen therapy.
Fluoroscopy findings:
Dynamic intrathoracic tracheal (moderate) and mainstem bronchial (severe) narrowing, secondary to chondromalacia.
