Описание: “THE LOVES OF EMMA BARDAC” is a one-hour, HD telefilm — written, produced
and directed by Thomas Mowrey. Katia and Marielle Labèque, widely acclaimed as the most
brilliant piano duo on the contemporary scene, perform 18 short pieces of music by
Debussy, Fauré and Bizet while appearing both as themselves and as actresses in this
impressionistic synthesis of narrative, art and music from Belle Epoch France.

The film tells the story
of a woman who had love affairs with both Fauré and Debussy, bore a daughter to each of them,
and eventually became Debussy’s second wife. Both composers wrote suites of piano music that they dedicated to their daughters by Emma — Dolly Bardac (Fauré's "Dolly" Suite) and Chouchou Debussy (Debussy's "Children's Corner" Suite).

The Labèque sisters perform works from these suites, from Debussy's "Petite" Suite and from Bizet's "Children's Games" Suite, while 70 fin de siècle French paintings appear throughout the narrative, including masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, Seurat, Manet, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cassatt, Morisot, Tissot and Vuillard.
