The Weight Vest Heel Raise is a valuable exercise for strengthening the calf muscles and enhancing ankle stability. By adding a weighted vest, the exercise becomes more challenging and helps to increase the intensity and effectiveness of the workout.
Set Up: Start by wearing a weighted vest securely fastened to your body. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and ensure proper posture, with your core engaged and shoulders relaxed.
Movement: Rise up onto the balls of your feet, lifting your heels as high as possible. Hold the position briefly, then lower your heels back down to the ground. Focus on maintaining balance and control throughout the movement. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Tips: Start with a lighter weight vest and gradually increase the resistance as your strength and stability improve. Maintain a slow and controlled movement pattern, avoiding any jerking or bouncing motions. Keep your core engaged to support your body's stability and prevent excessive leaning. Ensure that your feet are properly aligned and avoid any inward or outward rolling of the ankles. Listen to your body and stop the exercise if you experience any pain or discomfort.
