Farewell to Orkney is a tune I wrote in two pieces, separated by about twenty years. The A part was born around 1995 and then composer's block prevented me from coming up with an acceptable B part. But there was apparently one gestating inside my guitar, and it was born two decades later.
This is the title track of my CD, Farewell to Orkney.

La Grande Chaine is a fiddle tune I learned from Andre Brunet at Alisdair Fraser's Scottish Fiddle School about a decade ago. It is a fantastic French Canadian dance tune and it works well in Orkney tuning.
