Pillar 3 presentation, authored by Meelad Yousef Yousef from the University of Cordoba, is dedicated to developing sustainable and eco-friendly methods for managing the Fall Armyworm within the EU. The overarching goal is to produce comprehensive Plant Health Guidelines and an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) toolbox. Research efforts focus on leveraging natural enemies, exploring microbial agents, and developing semiochemical solutions. Specific tasks outlined include the screening of native parasitoids, entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs), and novel biopesticide formulations.
This presentation was delivered during the first EUFAWREADY webinar, titled "Maize matters: Europe gets FAW-ready!". This event, organized by HCC on January 29, 2026, is the first in a planned series of four. It is a vital part of the project's strategy to proactively engage key stakeholders and build a strong community prepared to defend against the threat posed by the Fall Armyworm.
