Business Today TV has obtained CCTV footage showing what really happened in the Jasola, Delhi offices of Godfrey Phillips India on May 30, 2024. The incident outside the room where an audit meeting of the company was being held, led to Executive Director Samir Modi seeking protection against his mother Dr Bina Modi and her associate Lalit Bhasin. As a counter measure, the PSO to Bina Modi, who was involved in the incident, also filed a police complaint against Samir Modi on May 31st for alleged assault. Business Today TV has a copy of the FIR which accuses Samir Modi of grabbing the security officer by his collar and physically assaulting him. Samir Modi, who heads businesses like Colorbar Cosmetics and Modicare is involved in a bitter feud with his mother Bina Modi over the inheritance of his father, the late K K Modi. The ₹11,000-crore inheritance includes a 50% stake in Godfrey Phillips as well as other Modi group companies. According to Samir Modi, he along with his siblings Lalit Modi and Charu Modi are equal beneficiaries and successors to the companies and assets.
