For his sound, Hale relies on the Victory Amplification RK50 for his main drive. He has four patches on his pedalboard: "filthy," "sweet," "gristle," and "hell yeah." The "filthy" patch is just the amp with a bit of reverb, while "sweet" adds chorus and compression. "Gristle" reduces the amp's gain slightly, and "hell yeah" adds delays and a boost pedal to the loop, along with a compressor on the clean channel. He also uses a drop pedal for one song.
