My Easy Lipo Charger Setup (SkyRC B6neo + Tidy Wiring)

Описание: A few videos ago, we unboxed this compact SkyRC B6neo lipo charger and put it through its paces. Because my main use case is charging packs with JST-PH leads, I need an adapter to XT-60 and the balance port. I can buy one, but since I already have an extra adapter cable for 4mm banana plugs, I will make one.

I'm not good at soldering, but it's kind of fun to do. I use this Sequre SQ001 iron. I cut off the banana plugs with just about the minimum amount of wires remaining to keep things clean. XT-60 supports a pretty high capacity of 60 amps and normally goes with much thicker wires. Not a lot of solder is needed here to make a good connection in this case. Certainly no need to fill the the whole terminal. As usual, let's apply heat shrinks to insulate the exposed bits. With a few minutes of work, the adapter is made.

It makes sense to me to keep the wiring as tidy as possible when going for a lightweight travel setup. Taking one step further, I looked into smaller power supply options that's easier to carry than the Macbook charger. I picked up this USB-C 20 watts wall charger on Amazon. The key is that it can optionally output at 12 volts. B6neo requires a minimum of 10v from DC input. I tried another USB-C charger capable of 9v. It could power on B6neo but would show an insufficient input power error message during charge.

Now this is a light travel setup! This USB-C charger charges my phone too. Here's the power supply and adapter in action. The charger displays the negotiated USB-C QC/PD power mode. Let's balanced charge this PN battery. The charger is pretty easy to use. In my next trip to the track, my backpack is going to be lighter.
