Trichloroacetic Acid, also known as TCA, is an effective chemical agent used to exfoliate and renew skin. TCA can be used to exclusively peel isolated areas of the skin. It is important to note that with applying the 20% TCA peel, it is highly recommended to first begin building up the skin’s tolerance by using the TCA 10% Peel first with good result. The TCA 20% Peel is not recommended for darker skin tones due to increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

TCA Peel can easily be applied to lighten skin & improve/remove tattoos, scars, wrinkles, freckles, acne, clogged pores, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, lip creases, black heads fine lines, age spots, dark spots, skin tags, moles & more. All of our TCA peels are easily diluted with water. The higher the concentration of our TCA acid the deeper the skin peel.

How does a TCA peel work?

A TCA peel dissolves cells in the top layer of your skin (epidermis). As the skin that’s been affected by TCA application peels off, new cell growth is encouraged underneath.

Once that top layer of skin has peeled off, a layer of brand-new skin cells becomes visible. Often, the new layer of skin is smoother and less affected by “imperfections” such as wrinkles and acne scarring.

Procedure for a TCA peel

The TCA peel treatment itself will probably take around 30 minutes. You will be instructed to lie down as the dermatologist applies the TCA solution to your skin.

Most people feel a burning sensation for the first few minutes of the procedure, followed by a stinging pain as the acid exfoliates and clears away the top layers of your skin.

The procedure is done in a single session. It may be recommended that you prepare your skin with certain products prior to a TCA peel to achieve better results.

If you are looking to achieve a certain result, multiple sessions may be required. It’s advised that you wait several months between chemical peels to allow your skin to fully heal.

You may be sedated during the TCA peel, according to what you and your dermatologist decide.

Instructions:

1. Perform a skin test first by applying a small portion of the peel below your ear along the jaw line. Wait 1 full minute and neutralize the area with PIRINGUBU ACID PEEL NEUTRALIZER. If no itching, rashes, hives and other unusual reactions occur within 24 hours, it is safe to proceed.
2. Wear a latex or plastic gloves to protect the hands and prevent it from peeling.
3. Using a cotton pad, apply PIRINGUBU GRAPESEED PEEL PRIMING SOLUTION to remove surface oil and dirt.
4. Allow the skin to dry thoroughly. Applying peeling solution on wet skin will produce poor results.
5. SHAKE BOTTLE GENTLY TO ENSURE ACCURATE CONCENTRATION. Dispense the chemical peel over the cotton pad and apply an even layer on your skin carefully avoiding the eyes. Allow atleast 1 cm distance from the eyes. Wait for 3-5 minutes. Stinging is normal.
6. If no redness or frosting (whitening of the skin) occurs, apply 2nd layer using the same cotton pad. Drop more peeling solution if cotton pad becomes dry. You can apply up to 3 layers waiting 3-5 minutes per layer.
7. Stop application when skin becomes very red or frosting occurs. Usually afer the 3rd layering. Frosting may not always occur even after the 3rd layering that is why it is best to limit layering to 3 for beginners and adjust up to 6-9 layers divided over 2-3 days on your next peeling sessions if you want deeper peeling.
8. Neutralize the chemical peel by applying PIRINGUBU ACID PEEL NEUTRALIZER. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of the powder with 30 ml of water. Soak the cotton pad with the solution and apply on the skin.
9. Apply the neutralizer until no burning sensation is felt.
10. Towel dry the skin and apply PIRINGUBU POST PEEL CREAM evenly. Apply the cream 3 to 6 times a day until peeling finishes in about a 3 to 10 days.
