Solid article here by RUSI diving into how Russian artillery has adapted so far during the war in Ukraine. Overall they find that Russia has shifted from a focus on weight of fires to more of a mix that includes increased use of precision munitions. The early focus on weight of fires may explain some of the shell shortages that have been reported. While it doesn't appear Russia is about to run out of ammunition, the challenge of Ukrainian dispersion may have chewed through more rounds than expected.
