Our total bill was 2240₹

The Bangalore branch of the famous Mangalam Mess in Salem. The food is classic Kongunadu style. Lots of pepper, crispy curry leaves, garam masala.


The star dish is the Pichipottai Chicken. But all the dishes like the kalakki, brain, mutton sukka (in a gravy), roast dry, were great. The Kalta or coin parotta was a hit among the kids.
Their mutton kadambam is a must try if you like the spare parts of mutton .
They have a gravy which is commonly used for all dishes they just add more onions and curry leaves and pepper powder for the meat you ask for .

The meals at ₹80 are a good bargain and they are keeping the authentic flavours of the sambar, rasam and kozhambu. I am a fan of there puli kulambu which was very good.
We ordered there mutton combo meal which costed 280₹ and had half plate mutton biryani, chicken kebab, mutton fry which they forgot to give , mutton curry and our regular sambar ,kulambu ,poriyal, applam, mor and unlimited rice.
