As we come together to celebrate Black History Month and commemorate 100 years of its national recognition, we proudly paste it on our timelines as a powerful testimony of the sovereignty and goodness of God.
As has been said, Black history is not an addendum to American history. It is American history.

From the very beginning & from generation to generation we all stand as the beneficiaries of faith that stood up to fear, inspiration that stood up to oppression, leadership that stood up to injustice and an unwavering perseverance that answered every form of intentional & evil government sanctioned exclusions.

From cotton fields to corporate boardrooms and from under resourced classrooms to courtrooms, Congress, Senate and the highest office in the land — the contributions of African Americans have greatly enriched the very fibers and shaped the very fabric this great nation is made of.

Today’s 100 year commemoration however, is not only for African Americans. It is for all Americans. It is not only for today’s generation of Americans but for tomorrow’s and especially in humble honor to the one’s who didn’t make it to see this day themselves but made great sacrifice & suffered extreme horrors that would serve as seeds to yield it’s harvest in another season.
We are that season beloved. Know it. Rejoice in it. Celebrate it. Give God glory in it and don’t you ever be ashamed in it because when one group overcomes, our whole nation moves forward.

When the true needs and souls of one family are met the whole community is made better.

And finally, when the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is acknowledged; then we are all made free from every bondage and every chain; known and unknown.

So, as we reflect on 100 years of BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION, we also recommit ourselves to Rebuilding, Better — Together.

We rebuild by remembering.
We rebuild by learning.
We rebuild by giving honor where honor is due.
We rebuild by ensuring that every future generation of every American never - ever forgets what it took for us to get here & humbly acknowledged the reality that we still have more ground to cover.

May we each dedicate ourselves to building homes, neighborhoods, cities, states and a nation — through the teaching of Our Lord, Jesus, The Christ — where human life is sacred, justice is precious, history is honored, and our future is brighter because we came this way & locked arms together.
