AARDVARK/PANGOLIN/RARE ANIMALS OF AFRICA/NOCTURNAL ANIMALS OF AFRICA/VUNERABLE ANIMALS
Hey guys, welcome to THE ULTIMATE SURVIVOR, the channel that takes around Africa virtually. We bring Africa right at your door step and we teach beautiful and amazing things that takes place only in Africa. In today’s video I am talking about the two animals that you seldom see or hear about them. I am talking about an Aardvark and pangolin. These animals are rare and are now specially protected to try and revive the numbers. These animals feeds mostly on termites and ants. And aardvark is adapted to digging holes. They will be looking for ants and termites and at the end of the day they make accommodation for other animals like hyenas that gives birth in aardvark’s holes. The python is also known for living in these holes.
Pangolins are facing extinction because long ago our great gran fathers believed that a pangolin meat is the kings and chiefs delicacy, and who ever presents it to the king will be rewarded either by cattle or a high rank in the king’s council. That led the hunting of the pangolin so that people will be rewarded.
Nowadays people still believe that pangolin scales have a very effective medicinal use. So when walking, everybody will be looking for this precious animal that is sought after by the traditional healers as well as Asians.
Aardvarks are nocturnal animals with elongated snouts, have a pig like appearance and they feed on ants and termites too. They dig holes everywhere in search of their delicacy, the ants and termites. Some of the holes are big enough to fit a medium sized human being and they tend to be used by hyenas as their dens and pythons shelter themselves there. There are so many myths that are associated with an aardvark and I will try to cover them when I do myths and mythological Africa.
