A peaceful road trip with wife & kid across Andhra Pradesh

What started as a temple visit plan slowly turned into a journey filled with devotion, scenic highway drives, nostalgia, foggy mornings, rivers, beaches, and beautiful family moments.
This is not just a travel vlog.
It is about faith, family time, and enjoying the journey itself.

🌄 HYDERABAD TO VIJAYAWADA – EARLY MORNING DRIVE
We started at 4:00 AM to avoid traffic and enjoy peaceful highways. Early-morning road trips have a special charm—empty roads, silence, and a fresh beginning. Google Maps showed 4 hours 30 minutes, but since it’s a full highway route, we reached within 3.5–4 hours.
One of the most beautiful moments was watching the night slowly turn into morning. We even captured an unplanned shot of a Hanuman statue with the rising sun, which felt symbolic and uplifting.
🛕 KANAKA DURGA TEMPLE – VIJAYAWADA
Entering Vijayawada, Indrakeeladri Hill welcomes you. Located beside the Krishna River, the Kanaka Durga Temple has a powerful spiritual presence. We opted for the ₹500 darshan, and since we arrived early, darshan was completed in just 5–10 minutes. The calm inside the sanctum and the hilltop views of the river and city made this visit very special.
🍽️ BREAKFAST & NOSTALGIA
After darshan, we enjoyed pesarattu and perugu vada, a Vijayawada classic. On the way to our next destination, we unexpectedly passed my engineering college, where I completed my B.Tech. We stopped, walked around the campus, met a few professors, and relived old memories. This reminded me that road trips are not only about new places, but also about reconnecting with the past.
🍛 MACHILIPATNAM & MANGINAPUDI BEACH
We stopped at Machilipatnam for lunch at the famous RK Restaurant, followed by a short drive to Manginapudi Beach (around 12 km away). Unlike crowded beaches, this one was peaceful and calm. The sea breeze, open space, and relaxed atmosphere made it perfect for family time, especially for our child.
🐍 MOPIDEVI SUBRAHMANYA SWAMY TEMPLE
Next, we visited Mopidevi Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, where the deity is believed to be Swayambhu. This temple is especially known for prayers related to Sarpa Dosha, marriage, children, and health. The village atmosphere, silence, and devotion made this visit deeply peaceful. We returned to Vijayawada feeling spiritually fulfilled.
Dinner was at Govinduni Goseva, known for its organic and hygienic food. Simple dishes, but excellent taste—perfect after a long day.
🌫️ DAY 2 – ANNAVARAM JOURNEY
The next day, we started early again, dressed in traditional attire. Winter fog made the drive beautiful and cinematic. Crossing the Godavari Bridge at Rajahmundry was a highlight—the vastness and calm flow of the river was truly humbling.
🛕 ANNAVARAM SATYANARAYANA SWAMY
At Annavaram, parking is available on the hilltop, with walking and free bus options. We performed the ₹1000 Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham, which took about 1 hour, followed by 20 minutes of darshan. Sitting together as a family during the vratham brought immense peace and gratitude. Lunch was at one of the largest restaurants in Andhra Pradesh along the route.
🦁 PANAKALA NARASIMHA SWAMY – FINAL STOP
Our final destination was Panakala Narasimha Swamy Temple, located on a scenic hilltop. The drive was calm and beautiful. The temple is known for Panakam, which devotees believe changes taste. Though simple, the spiritual energy here is very strong and felt like the perfect ending to our temple journey.
❤️ FINAL THOUGHTS
By the end of the trip, the odometer read 1440 kilometers. More than the distance, what stayed with us were the memories—quiet highways, foggy mornings, temple bells, beach walks, and family laughter.
This journey reminded us that
the journey matters as much as the destination, and memories matter more than milestones.
If you enjoy family road trips, temple journeys, and peaceful travel experiences, this video is for you.
