A last minute change of plan saw me take Sam up to Martindale in the Lake District to watch the red deer rutt. We saw some fantastic sights of the red stags (unfortunately too far away to film) and even managed to get a few Wainwrights in along the way.
If you get chance to visit the area in October time I'd highly recommend a trip up. Unlike most of the Lake District, parts of the fells above Martindale are off limits to the hiker. But the red deer can still be seen from the footpaths that circle around the deer forest.
