Best one day trip near Bangalore - Mandaragiri hills in Tumakuru is just 60km away from Bangalore. It has an 800 year old Jain Temple and the beautiful Maidala lake. This place is also referred to as the Basadi betta by the locals.
You can visit this place with your kids or elderly family members as you can drive to the top of the hills.
There is parking fee of 40 but the entry itself to the temple is free. Adhereing to dress code is mandatory. They have newly built the Samavasharanam, where Bhagwan Mahaveer is seen sitting under a tree and preaching his disciples
