Nine of those projects have won or been nominated for an Academy Award. She’s joined by her longtime friend and colleague, the esteemed filmmaker Joe Berlinger. Berlinger is an Academy Award and eight-time Emmy nominated and Peabody and Emmy-winning filmmaker whose films like Brother’s Keeper, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, and the Paradise Lost trilogy have helped define and propel the modern documentary genre.
The pair's most recent collaboration is the Netflix sensation Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel. This project centers on the disappearance of 21-year old Canadian student Elisa Lam, a case that captured the attention of the entire country in the winter of 2013.
