Known for her grace, beauty, and wealth, Goddess Lakshmi is one of the most prominent goddesses in Hinduism. Whilst there are several traits linked to her, she is significantly seen as the Goddess of fortune, wealth, joy, and beauty. Besides being considered a significant part of the tridevi trinity, along with Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Parvati, she is thought to be the embodiment of the planet Venus. She has been seen protecting Lord Vishnu in his various avatars during crucial points of time when he needed support in developing the universe. She is perhaps best known for her role in Hinduism as the deity who controls material wealth.
The image of Goddess Lakshmi looks truly divine and powerful, she is depicted either sitting or standing on the lotus flower with two other lotus flowers in her hands. In Hindu culture, the lotus flower is considered an epitome of virtue, self-realisation, and purity. Found in various parts of India; these flowers can thrive even under the cruellest conditions, withstanding droughts and air pollution. In spirituality, they symbolise how good thrives over evil without getting adversely affected. Holding two lotus flowers in each outstretched hand, Goddess Lakshmi remains graceful and listens to her devoted husband Lord Vishnu whom she loves unconditionally for all eternity.
Much like the classical depictions of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, she is also shown with her four arms extended. This is representing the four virtues that Hindus strive for, including, Dharma (the pursuit of a moral and ethical life), Artha (achievement of prosperity and wealth), Kama (emotional love and fulfilment) and Moksha (the quest for freedom and self-realization). In images, she is depicted as sitting in the blue ocean (Kshira Sagar), her palms emitting gold coins, which are considered the symbol of prosperity and abundance.
Lakshmi Ji ki aarti is a very popular aarti. It refers to the ritual of worship and prayer, involving the lighting of a lamp or Diya, accompanied by songs or mantras. The word aarti comes from the Sanskrit word aṛti meaning – the act of worship, adoration, honour, salutation, or prayer. With the hope of fulfilling your wishes and desires, here is the Lakshmi Ji ki Aarti.
